Minimum Required Qualification:
The appointee should: Have a Mine Managers Certificate of Competency
The Appointee should:
Mine Manager Certificate of Competency
Have At least 5 years experience in a related role, of which 2 years should have been at a management level or experience in a functional/specialist area.
Strong managerial skills with the ability to lead and motivate the production team;
Be computer literate in MS Office
Have experience in the relevant current Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental legislation, regulations as well as to the workplace principles applicable to SHE
Have experience in the relevant Mining legislation
Be a self-starter, motivated and be results orientated.
Exhibit good oral and written communication skills.
Be declared medically fit to function in the position and environment, as determined by a risk based medical examination at a relevant Occupational
Advantageous Qualifications:
Have undergone a Middle/ Executive Managerial Leadership Programme
NQF 7 Bachelors Degree or advanced Diploma in Mining Engineering
Key Responsibilities:
Driving a culture of Safety ownership with a strong emphasis on behaviour based safety
Managing the Underground Operations Unit teams, safely, efficiently and cost effectively to meet both short and long term production objectives.
Keeping up to date with latest Mining systems, processes and best practices and make suitable recommendations
Analysing and interpreting Mining data and reports and takes corrective action as required
Providing effective problem solving support to the Mining teams
Ensuring that all necessary Mining resources ,(personnel, equipment and materials ) are available as required
